Newberry-Columbia Line, SC: Night time scenes just by adding lights

[:D] One of the great things about this hobby is how you can keep adding to the realism of your railroad. Think of all of the things we do to improve the look, even studying the experts yet all of us can share what inovations we come up with, it just make things look better.

I love night time running especially when the train passes through a city or small town at night and with what’s on the market today you can really add to the realism of night scenes.

Downtown Newberry on the busy Main Street with street lights from Woodland Scenics and the buildings with interior lighting from Woodland Scenics and Model Powers stick on LEDS. Even the police car has headlights-tail lights- and a red flashing light on the roof.

I couldn’t agree more, Robert. Your scenes look very rewarding! The layout takes on a whole new personality in subdued (night) room lighting and the miniature layout lights can highlight little scenes of interest. The LED is a boon to scale modelers!

Job well done! [bow]

Very nice. Thank you for the inspiration. I am about to start lighting my layout. I’ve been avoiding it because if I have to light one building then I have to light them all. But I have been starting to learn how to use Arduino as a lighting controller and plan on making some cool scenes.
