Newbie in the Pomona calif area

Ok guys here goes I am a 64 yr old retired city worker i have been an am chair railroader for about as many years as i am old hahahah.I am in the market to meet some friends and start a model railroad club here in La Verne Calif at my house .I have a 36’X24’ gareage that i want to build an HO layout in, I have in mind to have a fictional layout with the cb&q tp&w and a shortline of the p&pu strictly freight not interested in passenger at this time the layout will be strictly DCC radio control with CVP products completely walk around and wireless . I am completely open for suggestions on how this should be built but i have modular around the room in mind .want plenty of switchin and a mainline that disappears so it doesnt show that it curves outta site . the main thing would be the guys who are interested in this would be willin to clean up the garage and do some miner remodeling of the garage and although i am retired and have nothin but time on my hand i cant do too much phuysical labor because i have a mild case of emphysema (absolutely no smokers allowed ) at this particular time i have nothing at all except a big heart and a head full of plans and i am also a computer technician with a garage full of computer componets to get rid of but i built this garage about 25 yrs ago with building a model railroad in mind and one thing led to another and nothin has ever been done about it we need to drywall the garage and paint and seal the conrete floor and move a door a walkin door to another location anyway my name is *** and im known as railfan on here my email addy is a.coolhand @verizon.net if any of you are interested please email me and from ther we can exchangew phone numbers and addresses. hope to hear from yall soon

railfan, Welcome to the forums.
Got some good news and bad news for ya.
The Bad News, You have stumbled onto the “Dark Side”, this is an “O” gauge forum. However we won’t hold that against you, probably most of us started out in either “HO” or “N”.
The Good News, Our sister publication, Model Railroader, is geared more to the two rail modelers. They have a very extensive forum support group, but by all means be sure to stop in for a visit. Even though we are essentially three railers we can sometimes be helpful to others.
