Happy they preserved a FP-45 it was designed as a transitional locomotive, in my view.

Orange Empire Railway Museum, California is also working in gettingt their '45 ready to run.

The FP45 was hardly a transitional design, it was an SDP45 placed in a full-width carbody to satisfy Santa Fe’s proclivities about appearance and accomplish unit reduction on passenger trains.
