Next Canadian steam locomotive to be released by Sunset is .........

Was reading the latest copy of MR and came across the ad by Sunset Models.

They has in their MR ad a list of the next brass engines that will be released.

They will be releasing the…Royal Hudson, the CPR 4-6-4 is next providing the interest is there.

I am really surprised at that announcement, the Royal Husdon has been released by a number of different manufacturers.

With all the attention the 2816 gets I am suprised that locomotive is not the one to be made next. The last brass model of Canadian steam made by Division Point was the P2 2-8-2.

I am surprised that the not streamlined version of 2816 is not released,

If they didn’t want so much $$$ I’d be lining up for one! Even the non-streamlined CPR Steamers had a touch of elegance to them.

The non-streamlined Hudsons are classics, far more elegant than the “royal”, the one locomotive I want to see is the “Northern” 4-8-4 K-1-a, I’d sell my car for one of these, and there are still the original 2 steamers around.

You are in luck, the K1 is also listed as a future product. They have a picture of one on their site.

Actually, Sunset has priced their models way below Division Point and you get DCC and sound as well.

It sure is a nice looking engine.

IF the Royal Hudson was done in N scale, I expect more units would be sold than doing yet another version of the Royal H in HO scale. There are people lined up wanting this unit in N, most who wanted the RH in HO already own one; all of my friends and I own the 2860.
