nickel plate products

I have been out of the hobby for a few years and am not up to date on a lot of things. Is Nickel Plate Products out of business?? If so, I need to find replacement parts for my 2 CB&Q Aeolus models. I need trucks for the tenders.

Check Walther’s website, Walthers.com. They may have them or some that will work as replacements.

NPP has been out of business for well over 15 years, so I doubt you’ll be able to find parts.

What sort of trucks do you need? Bowser, Precision SCale, PIA, Bethelehem, and a few other manufacturers make well over 100 different styles of trucks (the last time I looked), so you should be able to find something at least close.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of them. I did a Google search for “Nickel Plate Products model trains” and came up with nothing much that could help. It’s safe to say they’re gone. What scale do you model?
If Walthers doesn’t have what you’re looking for maybe check with Precision Scale.

I will check with Walthers. I am just hoping I can find trucks that match the remaining ones that are still good. Nice job of plating them by NPP!
By the way, does anyone know what these two models might be worth? I paid $290.00
back in 1987

I know they are highly sought after. The last one I saw on eBay brought quite a bit, although I cannot remember exactly how much. It is a really cool looking steamer, although shortlived (at least the streamlining).

The company has been gone for many years now. However, Nickel Plate Products’ CB&Q Aeolus was a rather rare model, with only about 100 of these locomotives ever being brought in by NPP. And while NPP was never known as one of the top brass importers, they did bring in a number of unusual models. So, HO versions of the inverted bathtubs would be expected to command quite a princely sum these days, given that so few were ever made.
