Great to know the best steam locomotive active in the eastern United States will be out and about once again. I look forward to seeing it here in Ohio and on other parts of the Norfolk Southern system.

Steam on the Curve! Magic to the ears of a railfan no matter what RR is your fav.

I’d be interested to know what the routing will be for the Toledo trips (Homestead Yard to Airline Jct.).

Mr. Marynowych, besides the fact that you always post the same thing, and besides the fact that it isn’t always appropriate to the article (NS is paying for the whole shebang in this case), haven’t you been posting to this site long enough yet to know that it takes time for Kalmbach’s servers to respond and you have to wait before clicking Submit a second, third, or fourth time?

I believe deadhead means that it will be towed and not be running under it’s own power. Me, I headed to Williamson for the Naugatuck runs. Decent roads to follow it on.

We got to ride behind 765 between Buffalo and Corning years ago. It was a treat to ride. All the way there and back there wasn’t one single crossing that did not have people to wave to. It was a Sunday morning and people leaving churches near the track waited for us to pass.

Can’t wait to see the engine in St. Louis!

Now, does “deadhead” mean diesel on the point, and essentially being towed in the consist?
Nonetheless, it’ll be good to see steam going thru Chillicothe [Ohio] again, so starved are we for ANY steam action 'round these parts.
[Hmmmmmm… now if only we could get 'er on New River again, where she REALLY put on a show!]

Don’t know if I’ll make it to the 'shoe, tho - there may be a Woodstock-like traffic problem getting near the place!

It appears that the West End of the NKP (Ft. Wayne/Chicago) will not be included in 765’s schedule. But, guess we can’t complain too much as the big Berk has graced us several times in the last few years. BUT, sure would liked to have seen it paired with the 8100 coming through Valpo’s curves.

Can’t wait to see the engine in Harrisburg!

I wish we could have had the765 last Saturday between Roanoke and Bristol.
