Can anyone tell me the width of the Nickel Plate Road logo on the front of a PA?

Looks to me like it’s the same width as the headlight casing.

Hi “NW110,”

The Nickel Plate’s “Bluebirds” were the subject of a special MR Paint Shop prototype feature in the July 1991 issue, page 134. The prototype drawing in that article shows a blue 24-inch-square nose herald on an aluminum gray background, with a 2-inch aluminum gray border. However, photos in the article also show NKP PAs with aluminum gray heralds on a blue background with no border. Photo dates show that the herald on the aluminum gray background was the original design, but that the herald on the blue background had replaced the earlier version by 1960 (close to the end of NKP passenger service). Other variations in this paint scheme are discussed in the article.
