NJ Transit may see management change
Christie has proven to be the master pork knacker, however derailed presidential aspirations via one retributive “traffic study” aside.
Is not the $40 plus billion dollar annual subsidy to repair the interstate system an example of socialism? The Interstate system obviously doesn’t pay its own way. Civil engineers who built the system have told me that it was designed with “planned obsolescence” in mind. The four wheeler paid a higher percentage for the system than the trucking companies who erode the pavement. In spite of this babying, trucking companies are going broke right and left. Railroads are booming.
Everybody is all bent out of shape because Christie is doing what he should have done when he first took office. That is, clean house. Granted, there is quite a pile of garbage to take out and he just started now. If he would have started on Day 1 of he term, the NJTransit flood could have been avoided simply by moving everything to high ground. Yes, there is high ground in that state and it starts just west of Newark. More strange is how none of the trucking company yards in that area flooded. Or perhaps no damage was sustained to them because the private sector trucking companies had enough intelligence to move their stuff out? NJTransit flood is a prime example of socialist government inaction. And yes, Christie is a card carrying member of the Republican wing of the Socialist Party. If that sentence makes no sense, think harder.
To the fowl chronic poster this is another perfect example of someone (you) basing their political philosophy on a work of fiction written by a mediocre author with no realistic concept of how economies work is clearly a deep thinker. Lead on, brave sir!
“Subway” Weinstein is history! Good deal, except for SCUBA-gear retailers. I hope they don’t give him a pension, or a job with PANY-NJ!
Lots of things happen in NJ that nobody seems to know about.
Weinstein knew about that problem just like Christie knew about the Fort Lee problem. A former exec from the MTA is going head NJT?! God have mercy on their souls for they know not what is coming. (The beginning of the end of railroading)
After the GW Bridge scandal why does it not surprise me the Christie says “A low level NJT was responsoible for moving eqipment” Biggest storm in 100 years coming and everyone warned and yet the generals never checked on the basics and some how it’s the privates fault for not doing anything. Course after all the years I spent working in Jersey it appears no one respond to “what’s in it for me” so nothing got done. The funny thing is if someone took their own incentive and moved everything they would not get a notice but management would get a bonus for following their emergency plans.
