NKP # 765 huffing and puffing

One of the on line recordings of # 765 pulling it’s consist around Horseshoe Curve. Go to the 3 minute mark for the good part. One of the Train Mags’ reported that the diesel heritage unit help pull the rather large consist up to Horseshoe Curve for the sake of speed, but the Hogger cut the diesel back to idle for the pull around the curve.

interesting how at first the pops were open even with the engine working hard.

and to think, after they make gallitzin, they get to ride a dimes worth of air nearly all the way to johnstown.
