No football and No Train Shows in Ohio

This weekend as we all wait for the Big Game, I thought it would be a great weekend to head to a great train show, big or small. [:)]

This weekend there are zero shows in Ohio! [:0] No football and no train shows. This must be some sort of conspiracy by all the people who watch ice-skating during football games. [:(!] And to make matters worse, our Blue Jackets Hockey Team has something better to do than earn a few bucks. [B)]

I guess I’ll just stay home and oil my cell phone. [|)]

Oh not so Buckeye, watch the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction on Speed Channel. They have some outstanding cars. Last night a 67 vette with 427 cu in at 435 hp sold for $145,000.00

I guess you completed oiling your DCS remote like a guy on another forum did. [:D] Would stay home and oil my TVs but have Town Board retreat tomorrow and weatherperson is calling for a mix of frozen rain, sleet and maybe some SNOWHIO late tomorrow PM.

Hey, Sunday in Pittsburgh there is the TCA Ft. Pitt meet. Only 2 hours from me in Columbus, and since the Steelers are out, I’ll be going!!!

Chiefie: I just oiled my TV and now I can Fast Forward even the live shows…must have somethin’ to do with oily electrons moving faster than unoiled ones. I’m gonna oil the radio next and see if I can speed the music up…

But don’t forget SPANKYBIRDs Sunday Photo Fun, always a big event.

Sorry to hear of your impending boredom Buck. Most weekends in Minnesota, that is the norm. This weekend however is quite the exception. I have my portable layout loaded in the truck, and will be off to set up for a mall show this weekend.

If you lived within 200 miles, I would say come and visit. Since most of the members here don’t, I will post photos later.

Have a great time Elliott, can’t wait to see the pictures.

Buckeye, at least you have teams from your area of the country, we out here on the west, the Eagles are the closest team to us. West coast had tough football year.

Always more train building.

Tim

Have you considered spending time working on your layout or playing with your trains, or even doing some good reading relating to your favorite railroad?

I’ll be spending the weekend adding new landscape features to a dual-purpose On30 layout in my living room. It’s configured as a holiday layout, complete with winter scenery, holiday trains, etc., for the Christmas season, and is now being converted to a fall scenery light industrial pike for the rest of the year–an idea that hit me a couple of days into the new year.

I’m always amazed at how some folks can’t seem to have fun in the hobby unless they’re out spending more money and continually buying stuff. You can get one helluva lot of layout building done in one pre-Super Bowl weekend.

Sure can not go anywhere if you are having sleet and snowhio. [:(] To start tomorrow PM and into Sunday. Glad I kept those gas containers full. Generator is ready. [good insurance]

Here’s another idea. Set up some seens and take a few pics of them and POST them on the Sunday Photo Fun.

A big thank you to the Chief, Spankybird, TurboOne, Big Boy, LAZ, Jimmy, Nitro and Alan for your suggestions on how to spend my weekend. Needless to say, helping Big Boy this weekend looks pretty enticing, but I am going to ignore all of your suggestions and stay the course with my most recent project.

Now, since Jimmy Dudaday has more experience in electronic oiling, I do hope he will suggest the correct product. And another thing, should it be oiled in the charger or out of the charger? [?]

buckeye, do you know that most of the forum know what the joke of this is.

Think our “friend” would approve this to lube my remote?

[:D][:D][:D][;)][:-^]

It’s a joke? [:0] I thought you guys were actually oiling your MTH controllers or CAB-1s.

Jimmy the DoooDaaah sprays a combination of WD 40, Liquid Wrench, and Sea Foam DEEP CREEP into the house breaker box so the oil gets distributed in the house wiring to all the items that are plugged into the electrical outlets. Even Karen says the meat grinder, Cuisinart, and garbage disposal are QUIET…shhhhhhh - I’m enjoyin’ the peace and tranquility…

I turned off Railsounds and PS-2 sounds and it’s like watchin’ a silent movie of the trains…(yawn - Zzzzzzzzzzzzz…)

I suppose that I could say you folks from Ohio deserve no football or train shows for swinging the election in favor of Bush, but I won’t demean myself to that level. I will say that even here in Southern California, where train shows are a rare sight (as are train shops), we happen to have a train show this weekend and Avengers football too. As for College football, we’ll have to wait until next year to win another National Campionship. Fight On!

Well gang, we got back a little while ago from doing the set up. About 6 hours worth, and I still have a little wiring left, maybe a half an hour. Here are a couple of photos.

Almost there Elliot!

Duda, don’t put too much oil in the breaker box, that might literally silence the trains too![;)][:D]

Jerry - you have to read Clay’s posting on OGR DCS to understand JimBo posting.

Elliot, can’t wait to see the finish layout. Do you add any buildings?
