Come on…If this one can be added surely the Tennessee Alabama and Georgia can be reinstated and the Tennessee Central added. Both had great paint jobs for heritage schemes and as many if not more supporters!
Yeah, what Jim said.
I agree with jim! Don’t forget these two very important railroads! Especially the TC!
When are the EMD’s coming?
Considering TCRM/SOU4501 made the trip to Crossville, TN over the ex-TC a few times during the heyday of the original Southern steam program, a TC scheme would certainly be appropriate - but do you go in the maroon color rumored to be N&W influence, or the jet-black and white that those final RS-36’s & C-420’s received? It wouldn’t take much of an adjustment to turn an NS engine into a TC black & white now, would it? C’mon, if the MGA gets an engine TC deserves one.
Let’s not forget the Akron Canton & Youngstown!
Wow, if NS’s ancestral honoring keeps up at this pace, pretty soon it’ll be a rarity to see a black-&-white NS Thoroughbred unit! But I’ll be the last one to complain. As a Pittsburgher, I’m familiar with how the MGA looked, but not with some of the other heritage roads mentioned here. Let the suggestions roll in!
And not to forget the Pittsburgh & West Virginia - also colorful locomotives and a part of N & W history…
Ditto on Jim Norton’s comments.
Still no TAG unit.
Still no TAG unit.
Still no TAG unit.
Great ! The more, the merrier
I think its great that NS came around to the idea of painting some of their predecessor livery to honor the companys 30th anniversary and the PR that can go along with something like this.
This is just a great idea. Thank You NS.
It would be great if NS would add an Akron, Canton, and Youngstown locomotive. The ACY was a small but yet strong railroad that N&W bought in 1964. While only about 164 miles long, it was a very important route that was used by many railroads to interchange tonnage from one road to another. It obviously was important or N&W would not have bothered obtaining it.
