Norfolk Southern Boxcar Paint Schemes

Hello Forum,

Can anyone tell me if Williams Norfolk Southern boxcar paint scheme is prototypical and if so, what years would it have been on the rails. The boxcar I am referring to is grey (with a grey door) with a red “N” and black “S” on the right side and “NORFOLK SOUTHERN” on the left side. Thanks one and all.

Bernard

A picture or link would be helpful??

I think as described it sounds correct for the first Norfolk Southern…that is, the one from the fifties and sixties, not the one that resulted from the Norfolk & Western + Southern merger in 1982.

The gray scheme dates from the 60s sometime.
