I have a question concerning locomotive lighting for Norfolk Southern locomotives. I am looking for pictures showing the locomotive’s exterior lights at night. I want to replicate different models exterior lights starting with a ES4400DC. I have looked on RR Pictures and found no night shots. I believe the locomotives have the following lights:
Head light
Reverse light
Porch light front/rear
Ditch lights front/rear
Front truck lights
Step lights on all 4 corners
Am i correct? Websites for pictures would be extremely helpful please.
Hi, go to Railpictures.net and search Norfolk Southern. About 63,000 pix will show up. You can search for specific model NS locomotives if you wish. You will find day and night pictures.
Try YouTube by searching NS Pittsburgh line paying attention to video shot around Altoona. I have watched many video shot at night by the Amtrak station with NS trains passing through on the mainline.
I think you are missing at least one small walkway light on the long hood outside the engineer’s door. There may be others around the base of the long hood.
