Norfolk Southern roster, mid 90s?

Hey folks. Ive done some google searches, but keep popping up the same two sites (both are good, but neither has the info I am after really) so figured I would ask here.

Anyone have a link for an NS roster in the mid 1990s, say after the -9s and SD70s started arriving but well before the Conrail breakup? I was guessing SD60, SD70, SD-40-2, GP-38, C30-7s, C39-8s, C40-8s, C44-9W, would be appropriate? Any other types that would be commonplace? Today its pretty much all -9s, ES44DC, SD70, would like a bit more variety I suppose.

Thanks.

Try this link:

Then click on each road number range and you can see when the units were built.

There isalso a Norfolk Southern Yahoo group that can probably help you. Basically the roster before the Conrail breakup would consist of former N & W locos and Southern locos so you could look them up in Fallen Flags. Also you can find NS photos that are dated in Fallen Flags,

You might want to try this site too. It gives the heritage of each group of locomotives.

Hi, The mid-1990s were an interesting time on NS as there was a wide variety of its unique power active across the system.

I have a basic (but official) NS roster that was accurate around early-1998. Send me your e-mail address in a private message, and I’ll send you the roster in an e-mail.
