This past Monday I stopped by the famous Horseshoe Curve in Altoona, Pa. Just as I reached the curve’s observation area a Norfolk Southern Train approached the curve. Lead by 3 N&S engines it was pulling a long train of N&S Passenger cars. Each of the cars were painted in the old N & W “Powhatan Arrow” Paint scheme. There was even a full vista dome car. All the cars looked freshly painted. Is the rail line going to bring this back? It was very impressive. There was no tail observation car attached.

You witnessed the office car special train. This train is used by senior officials and their guests. It is also used for employee specials now and then where selected employees are given an opportunity to ride their territory in style!
