Hi,

I just received the November issue of Classic Toy Trains. I must say…I like it a lot! I have several questions regarding the cover photo:

  1. Can anyone indentify the Canadian Pacific F units? Who is the manufacturer of them? Lionel, MTH?, Atlas?

  2. I like the track. It captures the essence of 3 rail traditional track. I read the article describing how he detailed the track. However, the cover photo shows, to me at least, that all 3 rails have been blackened, just not the center rail as described in the article. Can this be confirmed by someone? And it appears to be a black shiney coating on the sides of the rails.

Those are Lionel F units owned by Kent Johnson (to be reviewed in the December issue).

The shot was a module made by Kent. The track was regular tubular track and the sides were painted IAW the feature on p. 33.
