They even did the computer check letter (or whatever the K is called).

That is cool.

sweeeeet!!!

Oh my, doesn’t that look GOOD!

Now that’s one sharp lookin’ locomotive!

I would love to see this one and the original Norfolk Southern Railway unit as the assigned power for 222/221. As an engineer who often runs these trains that would make my day!

That is classy. Hopefully I’ll get to step on one of these, love that new cab smell.

It would be hard to get a good picture of you, though. Atlanta to Charlotte at night and then back in the AM, with the sun behind.

212 and 213 would be good for Greenville - Atlanta…

Well for some unknown reason Management is dead set on only assigning two locomotives to 222 and 221. Because of this the train just drags up the line delaying all of the other trains around it. At least with two AC units it would move a little faster! Trains 203, 204, 211, 212, 213 and 214 all get three units. Add the Conrail unit into the consist of the Southern and the NS units and I’d agree with you. My guess is that sadly you’ll never see any of these units on the head end of any intermodal train. NS still believes in adhering to a tonnage rating chart not taking into account excessive length adds drag to a train. Intermodal trains may not be as heavy as a unit coal train but when you’re trying to pull 9,000 feet through numerous curves it might as well be.

That is a beautiful locomotive!

EMD#1, oltmannd mentioned Charlotte and Greenville. Do you run through Blacksburg and Gaffney, SC? I work in these two towns and try to get some trackside time when I can.

Looks Nice!!! [C):-)]

Looks stellar!

I’m glad to see NS is getting right on top of painting these things!

Now we need to convince CSX and BNSF to do a heritage scheme… But I’m just a foamer. [8-|]

Note: It seems that NS is using its own facilities to paint these heritage units and farming out regular NS locos paint to contract painters ??

I like the Heritage unit Progress rail painted for NS one of the new EMD units made in Muncie, IN .

NS 1894 , Has any one seen this one yet ?

I run between Atlanta and Greenville, SC. I’d love a chance to run this locomotive. If I ever do, I’ll be sure to take a picture and post it for you guys!
