Looks like the FBI got involved because the governor decided to put the hooker on a train to DC. My question is: If he instead got on the train with her and was in the act of “legislating” her while crossing state lines, would that still be a federal offense?
Looks like the “GUV”, got caught with his “Finger in the Cookie Jar”., or maybe in the “Drawers”, and thats not the cash drawer…getting to where you cant have any fun at all these days…I remember when that stuff was $3…[:I]
Well i can only assume is that when they were handing out brains, he thought they said Trains, and he said sure I’ll take the 539pm., i still cant believe he paid 4/5thou for that stuff., like i said before, I remember when $3 was usual going rate., guess they have improved it last 45/50 years…[wow]
It would have been better had they booked a compartment. New York to Chicago. Do not disturb.
While the vibrations would not be of Frank Zappa’s 200 Motels, “Put Another Quarter In,” it would not be cheap. At $5,500 per hour, the mile high club would make better economic sense.
"When she knows as much as we know
She’ll be on her way to Reno
While he still has dough"
I wonder if the Guv. wishes he had taken along the wife instead on this “business trip?”
No matter, “Still they go and shuffle, shuffle off to Buffalo”
His career is over, done, kaput, outahere…and his “lady of the night” will now make millions on the talk show circuit and book writing deals. This situation is a perfect example of the corrupting effects of political power…Billy Clinton found out and now “Mr. Clean” Spitzer is finding out…among very many others. I HATE POLITICS AND POLITICIANS!
Jim, look at the bright side of what’s just around the corner… seeing our own fuzzy & scuzzy Illinois guv’nor indicted and convicted as a result of the evidence and testimony in the Tony Rezko trial. That would make it two in a row, and five of the last nine Illinois governors to go to prison.
Actually, that is what’s wrong with politics. He may be out as NY Gov. but he will turn up someplace else. Look at Billy Clinton-50-100K apiece for speeches, and maybe he’ll be the husband of a President.
Also, I have a $50 bet that Sen. Craig of Idaho, he of the footsies game in the bathroom, will be re-elected. I’ve worked on the perimeter of politics for many years and they all turn up somewhere.
To keep this OT, I only think the train trip would come under the Mann Act if the lady were underage.
Hey, guys, let’s not slam all doctors because some of them fondle their clients…nor priests. It is the person, not the calling, that is in disrepute here. Let’s leave the politicking for other forums, okay.
The answer to the original question is No, it would not make any difference if he had escorted her. The crime is to transport a female across state lines for imorral purposes ie prostitution. IIRC the law was refered to as the “White Slave Trade Act” when it was passed.
Can’t say as I have any sympathy for him. Dont throw stones if you live in a glass house! As for her it will probably be the best paid night of her life.
You’re right about transportation of female persons across state lines, only I referred to it as the “Mann Act”. Since it comes from the early days of the 20th Century, most people have forgotten the sponsor and I can’t even remember his first name. And I said underage, I’m wrong on that.
