Did the NYC and Rock Island interchange with each other and if so where and how much? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
i would think Chicago would be a interchange point…thru the IHB or BRC…as far as how much well…
The RI and NYC had interchanges at a few locations in the Chicago/Joliet area. Some direct, some via the belt lines. Also interchanged in the St. Louis area.
For a time in the 1960s into I think the early 1970s, by then PC, the RI and NYC had a pair of run thru trains between Silvis, IL and Elkhart, IN via the NYC’s Kankakee line. The trains were called the Gemini trains.
The RI and NYC passenger trains shared La Salle Street station in Chicago.

There was the potential for interchange between subsidiaries Peoria Terminal and Peoria & Eastern at Pekin, Illinois.
Depue, Illinois may have been a point of interchange.
Joliet, Illinois.
Depue was were the run thrus left the RI and entered the NYC trackage.

Wasn’t that via the Kankakee Belt?
