O gauge Chain Link Fence

December 07 issue of Classic Toy Trains shows great photos of an industrial area modeled by Dennis Brennan on pages 46 and 47. You can clearly see on both pages some very realistic industrial type high galvanized fencing. I have been looking for months for a source of this fencing in O Gauge. I have found some in HO gauge that looks fairly good, but everything I have found in O gauge does not have the detail of the fencing in these photos. Since I am too lazy to scratch build, is there a source out there that I have not been able to find? I have also checked every hobby shop I could find as my work takes me to many other states, but everything I have found just does not have the detail. I need about 5 feet of length and 2 truck gates.

I’ve made chainlink fencing for a layout I did for someone by using window screen and small diameter aluminum tubing. Cut the screen, either aluminum or plastic, on the diagonal; cut the “posts” to size and lay them out on a piece of tape to hold them in place; glue the mesh to the posts with super glue; spray with the color of your choice.

I found some material at a Hobby Lobby Called “WireForm” made by AMACO.

It’s 100% aluminum Sparkle Mesh that looks to be very good for “O” Scale Chain Link.

A 16" X 20" piece sells for about $5.00, you will have to provide your own posts, etc.

(what I got, is listed as; 1/8 pattern, 406 X 508mm)
