O-scale decals

Anyone have a source for O-scale Decals? I tried Champ but no luck for what I’m looking for.

As the resident re-paint expert here (I don’t believe anyone here has repainted as much as I have), here’s my list. I recently posted this list under the “Any Interest In NASCAR Blowouts” Thread. I cut and pasted everything, so I hope the links work.

Again, be forewarned Microscale (who I think makes the best decals, bar none) is dropping many 0 scale decals. They may be listed on the website, but once out of stock, won’t be remade. Your best hope there is to find a dealer who has them.

The Railgraphics data sets are a wonderful addition to mixing and matching HO hearld and logos and completing the job with 0 scale data and dimensions. But the Champ decal fluid is helpful on the second fluid application as their film is a little thicker than that of Microscale.

I’ve said this before, but for things like flat cars and gondolas, it is very easy to use large HO scale logos and hearlds from loco or hi-cube sets, then match with 0 scale data. Microscale also makes an 0 scale data set. The consolodated lube plate set is out of stock, but the owner at Microscale told me these will be remade. There’s another set of lube plates that also has lube dots and the ACI bars.

http://www.mgdecals.com/frtlistbystk.htm A great line up of decals mostly in midwest and northeast lines. Some modern lines that no one does in traditional 3-rail sizes. Some nice milk car sets and some modern sets too.

Brian…Thanks for the list. Have you ever seen Ohio Central Decals? I didn’t see any on your listing.

Buckeye, thanks. Maybe once I think I saw a set of OC decals for an HO locomotive. Here’s a link for a complete list of decal makers. I haven’t used dry transfers in years, but maybe Greg omar or CDS can be of luck for you.

Some of these photos I’ve probably posted before. But as I was saying, I’ve learned to loosely follow prototype, allowing myself to take liberties as I am limited to what decals I can find easily.

Above: Conrail is a fun line to model for all the diversity and various paint/lettering variations as done by their many facilities. The CSX car is done from Microscale HO loco logos and 0 scale data sets.

Above: The smaller MARX origin K-Line box cars are favorites of mine. Here, liberties must be taken. But it is also much easier to mix and match HO and 0 scale decals. Notice the PC box car has no ID letters above the road number… I couldn’t find any slanted PC letters small enough to look right.

Below: Again, here the small short Lionel MPC origin flat cars are easy candidates for the scale mixing of decals. The load on the NS flat is made from Scotch Tape center spools painted silver on a custom load holder designed to slot into every single short flat car I have. Same for the mount holding the CNJ trailer on the NYC flat. The trailer was found at a dollar store, and I painted several in differing roads.
