There are four wires that come out of the old Lambert under the table mounting switch machine and three wire connections for the Atlas control panel switch. How are they wired?
Help…Help…Help…

If you’re certain the 4 wires go to the coils themselves - the middle two would be common and go to the center on the Atlas control. The outer two would go to the two outer terminals on the Atlas control.
Those old twin-coil units take even more power to operate than the Atlas turnouts. This may be detrimental to the buttons. I would also recommend a capacitor discharge power supply. An old cheapy train set power pack is probably not going to work very well with such switch machines.

Thanks, I’ll give that another shot. I may not have had the best connection when I tried that earlier. Railroading is great, especially when there is this kind of support.

I am using the Lambert switch machines also. I would highly recomend that you use a Capacitor Discharge supply with these machines. I have several (lost count) of them and the CD unit makes you get their attention when they operate. With just a regular 16 to 18 volt supply I couldn’t be sure that the turnout was switched or not without looking at it. With the CD unit I can switch 4 turnouts at the same time, every time.
