I found this old Thomas the Tank Engine today while digging around in some totes of miscellaneous train stuff. I forgot I even had it. It’s from back when my kids were little (20+ years ago). I had to get it running for my youngest grandson. I threw in an old Digitrax decoder and took some work, but I got it going, though I think it has a cracked gear somewhere because it’s kind of clunky. But It runs, and my grandson is going to love it. Heck, it’s already one of my favorite loco’s already.
I couldn’t get in the website for days.
Isn’t it funny how our little ones can change our view of almost anything? Cheap plasticky princess dresses and shoes on the hooks at stores are junk, until ya see how happy it makes the little princess when wearing it, right?
I hope your grandson loves the Thomas loco too. Dan
Hi JDVass,
I don’t think that smile can get any bigger! Great picture.
There is a company in England that sells Loksound decoders for the Thomas engines. I bought one for use at train shows and the kids were enthralled! The company is called ‘Olivias Trains’.
Cheers!!

Club I belonged to had received several of those things via donations. Never could get them to run very well when mixed with other trains during open house.
I took one of them, removed the motor, and mounted it with some added cribbing as a load on a flat car. Visiting kids got just as excited seeing it.
