Older? Weaver Hi-Rail FA-2's ??

From pictures I’ve seen,looks like these have a drive shaft similar to some HO engines.
Are these the chain drive models?
Is there room to add tmcc, sound?
Decent runners?

I’ve got the older Weaver FAs (NYC of course) and they do indeed use a chain system.

I don’t think you have room for other boards in there. The motor is mounted in the middle of the floor. The early RS3,FAs, and P&D scale F units used this same chain drive. If you got one with the drive shafts underneath maybe. The weak spot on these engines is the chain sprockets they split(crack)easily.P&D redesigned the part and their replacement holds up well.

Thanks guys. FA’s are on the back burner, just picked up my preordered Legacy set today.
Ran my Lionmaster Challenger so far, but will be away over the weekend - bummer.
