[V]I want to apologize to all of you railroad machinist out there for not updating you on the recent rally the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Worker (IAMAW [IAM for short]) union had in Washington, DC. I had to tend to my sick mother, this past ‘Mothers’ Day’ weekend and it slipped my mind, sorry about that.[V] Anyway, I and my union’s local president and vice-president attended, but it was very hot yesterday and we didn’t stay very long. Plus, most of the unions represented there, were from the airline industry and much of the speeches were geared toward their plight.[|)] Some of the union vp’s mentioned a few of the rail carriers by name, including Amtrak, but not much detail about our ongoing issues were never addressed.[B)] It was more of a political stance, being that everyone who spoke was pretty much endorsing Kerry for president. It was all a big let down for me, but I went there to represent us, the railroaders, and I fell very happy that I could.[:)]
