I’ve learned about this project and I’d like to hear what you guys think of it. I know it’s very politically charged, but it would the first new track laid in a long time no matter how controversial it is.
That I am aware of, a number of years ago, it enticed a former editor of Trains into its management team.

I’m glad the Supreme Court thru out the lower court’s ruling that the railroad’s EIS had not considered environmental concerns beyond rail transport issues. However, I see that UBRY is seeking government backed private activity bonds from DOT, despite their website saying that the project would be locally privately funded.
