I plan to add an APB signal system to my layout. I want to use a 3 light vertical signal similar to what the Milwaukee Road used. I have looked at the Tomar brass signals at $20+ each, then noticed the Oregon Rail Supply ‘kits’ for about $10 each.
Has anyone assembed these kits and used them:
o - Are the ‘kits’ pretty good(parts fit, not too fragile)?
o - Is the scale ‘appearance’ good, or are they a little ‘bulky’?

The kits are good, pretty much in scale. They do take some patence to assemble, though.
What’s up with Oregon Rail Supply?
On their web site, under New Products, they show photos of 4-track signal bridges and a note that due to production problems the signal bridges will not be available until January 2005. That is what it says, January 2005!
Months ago, I emailed the guy and he responded that he had a back problem that had slowed him down and he would update the site to show June 2005. Hello? It is now October. No updated web site and no signal bridges.

Don’t you think a polite email saying you inquired earlier and are very interested in the signals might provide more information than posting a message here? Same amount of time and effort, much better chance of finding out.
Lots of things can delay production. Maybe his back got worse, maybe a factory burnt down, maybe he decided not to do them. But he’s the person to ask.

I purchased a couple of the Oregon PRR signals. I’ve not yet set them up to actually operated, but they sure look pretty neat to me. Can’t beat the price either.
This might be a alturnitive for you if this helps
