P2K F7 DCC Sound and Magnets

Hi I havd some Kadee undertrack magnets fitted under sections of HO Kato Unitrack. I have noticed that when my Proto 2000 F7A-B (with DCC Sound) goes over the magnet the horn blows or the loco says “Max”. Does anyone know what is causing this and can it be damaging the electronics in the loco? Apart from this it is a great loco.

Read the manual.

The Kadee magnet is tripping the relay, just like the magnetic wand does.
