Anyone know if you can paint indoor wall paint (like Valspar, etc) on styrofoam? Or will it eat away at it?
I do it all the time. Usually, I water down the paint a lttle bit. You should have no problem.

You might consider using primer first.
For the first or finish coat use latex paint that doesn’t have an easy to clear or dirt releasing finish.
Water-based paint will not eat foam. I use non gloss latex paint and get great coverage without primer.
Thanks, everyone!
Wal-Mart sells their house brand for like $8.00 a gallon. I wouldn’t put it on my walls but it sure does make a nice dirt color and an a nice backdrop blue color

Just painted mine with Valspar last week. Paint didn’t go very far as quite a bit got sucked up. But is does looked good. I only did one layer but I put it on pretty heavy and covered it in one coat. I used a tan color (as base) that Lowes had pint sized samples for a dollar each, Three pints covered mine. 11’ x 8’ L 30 " wide.
