Pasting a Web address into a post

Thanks to several fellow bloggers I have recently learned how to post pictures. Now I would like to learn how to insert a Web address into a post so that the viewer can access that site directly from the post. Please put the instructions in a form that someone who is not too computer savy (like ME!) can easily follow.

Thanks in advance

Dave

Edit: It works!!!

Dave,

Copy the URL itself (eg, http://mrr.trains.com/) to your clipboard.

Highlight the text in your post that you want to be the link, like this. (It can be the URL, or simply some text).

Click on the little link (get it?) of chain on the post’s toolbar so the link box/menu opens.

Paste the URL you previously copied into the box where it says “Link URL”.

Click “insert”.

You can also just highlight and copy the link from the address bar, then paste it directly into your post. The link will automatically change color in the post and work.

If you are using Internet Explorer, place your cursor on the address bar at the top of the page and highlight everything in the address box, then simultaneously press the CTRL and C keys to copy the address. Put your cursor in the Post Message box and simultaneously press the CTRL and V keys to paste the address.

The address pasted into the Post Message box should look like this:

http://cs.trains.com/TRCCS/forums/AddPost.aspx?ReplyToPostID=2009795&Quote=False

Once posted, the address takes the reader to this thread. Give it a try.

Rich

Hey Everybody:

Thanks a lot for your information. I edited the address for this thread into the original post and it worked. Easy, easy!
