On the peco extended pin switch motor, is there any way to adjust the pin length up; specifically making it longer? There is about a half inch or so that hangs below the motor when it comes stock, I could really use that length on the top side… can I move it?
I don’t know if you can physically extend the pin by pushing it up from the bottom. You might deform the slide or loosten the pin. Peco does make an extension pin to add to the length. It has a brass sleeve that you crimp on to the existing pin.
I’ve never used that Peco switch motor to know if the pin can be moved or removed, but it might be possible to substitute a longer piece of music wire purchased from your local hardware store or hobby shop.
I have an old PL-10 with a burnt out coil. I was able to tap the pin up so end of the pin is right at the slide. The slide still moves from side to side but the pin will not stay in the raised position. I guess some CA would hold it there.
