Peco scissors crossing wiring in DCC

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone can’t point me in the right direction to find out how to wire a Peco scissors crossing for DCC. I have been to WiringforDCC.com and the website covers crossings but not SCISSOR crossings (N scale). I can’t read an electric wiring schematic to save my life so I need a “… for dummies” description.

Thanks

Scissors crossing? Are you meaning a Double or Single slip or just a simple diamond?

PLS DCC layout construction (*) favors using a auto-reverser

(btw., there is a picture of a scissor crossing, 2nd from top. 1 crossing, 4 switches, double-track)

(*) disclaimer  I just run across them via internet search. I do not know them, neither commercially, nor privately

Double Cross Over…

OP, no, there is no special wiring needed for a Double Cross Over.

Well, if the double track is laid out like a dog-bone, this switch arrangement will create the same issue as with an balloon track (or wye) [:)]

IIRC, the Peco double crossovers have insulated gaps already factory installed. If you wind up with a ‘dogbone’ arrangement that will result in a ‘reverse loop’, then you will need to add gaps out in the reverse loop to provide an insulated section for an auto reverser to do it’s job…

Thanks for the input all, I appreciate the effort.

The scissors track is not in a dogbone or double-reverse or anything like that. I have a double track mainline around the outside edge of my layout. The scissor crossing is simply put inbetween the two tracks to provide a cross-over point from one track to the other.
