Still working on my HO scale E8, Penn Central 4300 (ex-PRR 5700), which was one of only two PRR E8s to have dual headlights. Anyway, this was started with a P2k E8 (in NYC colors, oddly enough). So far, I’ve stripped the unit, fitted a new nose door (from a MILW E7), removed the ‘rings’ from the side windows, and attempted to strip the paint with Castrol Super Clean. With the body work nearly finished, my attention has turned to the smaller details. Namely the roof–does anyone have a clear shot of 4300’s (or even 5700’s) roof? I know that the unit has a five-chime horn on the engineer’s side, but I’m lost as to what the steam generator area looked like. Thanks in advance.
Not much help on the roof details here, small photo…

how are you going to replicate that nose paint? With a shotgun[:D]
You could also post the question on the Diesel Detailers website, (link in my sig).
