Hello!
I am creating a PRR N scale micro switching layout with a GE 44 ton switcher as my primary locomotive. Can anyone suggest road names for 40’ boxcars or reefers that appeared on PRR’s rails in the 1940s - 50s?
THANKS!

PRR was so large that pretty much any railroad’s cars could show up on it’s lines. Certain railroads might be more likely to show up depending on what industries you’re modelling. For example, a fruit and vegetable warehouse might receive reefer cars from Northern Pacific, Pacific Fruit Express, Western Fruit Express etc. coming from a long way from the nearest PRR trackage.
It would also depend on where your layout is set. I imagine a PRR layout set in Chicago would be more likely to see midwestern cars (GN, CNW, CGW, CB&Q etc.) than would one set on the east coast.
