Great to see some pictures of modern Australian models (mostly). Nice modelling all round.
I love the trees. My layout will need a lot of them so any pointers would be good.
God Bless

Gday Graham,
Another Aussie! we are over-running the place [:)]
Yes the models look really sharp and are nicely done… I love the modern locos (relatively speaking) from the 1720 through to the 4000class…
I agree the tree’s are really nice…
what do you model Graham?
Cheers
Grear pics from down under James, hope ya had a good time.

As yet the “layout” is a 3 bay shed with centre roller doors, carpet on one third (the layout) and a wooden floor with a foam underlay to “spring” it on the other two thirds (for the dancer in the family). So I have about 3m x 6m (not including the 6m long access from the dance side so you could probably say 4m wide including the people space). The layout space is currently covered in junk while I line the shed walls.
My layout will be current day Melbourne/Sydney line type traffic with one level based in the Riverina area of NSW and the upper level based on the Illawarra area. Neither will be specific prototypes but the main inspirations for features will be Cootamundra, Junee, Bomen, surrounding grain lines (and links north for future Brisbane/Melbourne inland traffic?), the Bethungra Spiral (used for the transition between levels), and the Illawarra area coal runs, specifically the Unanderra/Moss Vale Line.
From this the traffic will come from the menagerie of companies running in this part of the world (including QR National).
I plan to post some preliminary plans of the layout once I get them into Jpeg format.
As we (unlike some) had daylight saving start today, I had better get to bed as I have a Huge day at work tomorrow and it is now 11:45pm.
Talk soon.
God Bless
Graham
Its nice to see what you guys have Downunder! Maybe we should have a WPF also so you could post your shots also… Kevin
is there anywhere online to order aussie rolling stock from? as an american it would be neat to see what kind of stuff is available for the heck of it
nice pictures!
Great pics. I agree with some of the others. the trees cought my eye. Another thing that cought my eye was the bridges in the forground in the last pic. Thanks for sharing. Mike
Nice catenary too. Got any Aussie electrics to show?
I have noticed that our aussie friends are starting to show off some of there work. There is a lot of nice work going on down under. I’m curious of your road names you have down under and types of loco’s that are there.[:D]
Hi James
Thanks for the photos. I wish QR stuff was easier to get. Great to see those QR diesels. Are those HO or S scale, do you know?
Mike
Mike,
all the QR in the pics is HO
QR stuff is getting easier to get hold of with Wuiske models (www.wuiskepromotions.com.au) making alot of the QR locomotives and Rollingstock, I bought a QR 2170 MaxiCab kit from Wuiske which is really nicely done, there is also black diamond models (don’t know website) who make RTR locomotives the 2300’s in the pictures are $330, pricey but worth it.
To the others,
Thanks for the replies [:D] Hopefully this time next year my own layout will be at one of the shows…
I do have pics of QR electrics and I will upload and post tonight.
Cheers
Gday,
www.railpage.com.au is quite a good website and forum with plenty of information on different happenings around Australia… there is also a picture gallery with many different locomotives featured [:)]
