Pike's Peak Cog Railway

I would like to do a micro based around this http://www.cograilway.com/history.html. Has anyone ever seen a rack and adhesion layout, or know of any cog locomotives or track for HO?

I found this site but I dont know what it im reading http://www.ferro-train.com/. Are there any american dealers of ferro?

There are some European prototype models available in HO scale and N scale at:

search site for “rack”

thanks

machinate,

Mt Washington (in NH) has a cog reailway. Ridden it a couple of times. I think it’s only 3 miles in length but it still takes you an hour or so to get to the top.

It’s funny you should ask this very question. I was musing just last week whether anyone had tried modeling a cog railway on their layout. I’ll be curious to know what you find out.

Tom

Machinate,
The question of cog railways was a thread a while ago, so use the Advanced
Search the forums . . . function at the top of the page. In the meantime, here’s a link to a search at the Index of Magazines:

I think the answer is it’s a scratch bulding project.
