Does anyone know where I can locate pink paint to model a pink grain car? I am unable to locate any in the local hobby store.
Are you painting some of the Iowa grain hoppers? The rumor is the owner of those just took whatever paint he had laying around and mixed it and that’s what he came up with!
I know of no ready mixed pink, best bet is to take white paint and mix red into it until you get the shade you’re looking for.

Do you remember that old WW2 movie, “Operation Petticoat?” It was a submarine movie, but the crew was given an old rust-bucket, and they could only find enough white paint for half the sub, and red for the other half. So, they mixed them…"
Try Michaels, A.C. Moore or one of the other chain craft stores, or even Wal-Mart. They have cheap acrylic paint in every color imaginable. I love cheap acrylic paint. It dries flat and dull. It dry-brushes beautifully. It mixes with Gypsolite for scenery. It cleans up with water. Buy yourself some cheap brushes, and go to town. You don’t have to buy everything for your layout at a train shop.
Just add a few drops of Santa Fe Red to some Reefer White and you’ll be close enough for government work.
