Planning a shelf layout in my bedroom

I am planning to build a shelf layout running around my bedroom however, in the process of track planning i ran into a small problem…My door![:(!] I have tryed numerous ideas for solving this problem but none of them look to have the solution im looking for. So i turn to the more knowledgeable modelers to help me out.

how bout a drop down or lift out ,just try to set it up so door to room can be open or closed and still run trains ,…Jerry

How about showing us a drawing of how the room is laid out. Include the door, windows, closet and any other obstacles or restrictions.

Also what scale are you planning? Most doors have plenty of room above to have a ceiling layout. Otherwise the bridge idea noted should do the job.

Try making the layout kinda go in a horseshoe shape around the arwa the door takes up when its being opened so u can run trains wheather the door is open or closed.

A liftout, hinged or unhinged, is your best bet.

Don’t forget the sign for the outside of the door when the liftout is in place. If on a 2nd floor or higher make sure you have an escape ladder or similar in case of fire. In an emergency the movable section may not be as easy as you think.
