Those of you from the DFW area, how has this show been in the last few years? I have not been in about 15 years. I am wondering if the drive up from central Texas is worth it. Is it still in the same place? It seemed to me the place was almost in Oklahoma. It used to be one of the better shows years ago.
It has been a couple of years since I have been. I have attended this show over the years as part of a modular club, a vendor, and as a plain jane hobbyist. I think it is one of the best run shows in Texas; and the Plano Center is a nice venue. As a vendor, it doesn’t get better than this show, this is where I was able to sell lots and lots of trains. As a hobbyist, there seems to be a nice balance between vendors and layouts as well; and there are some nice modular layouts there.
I also see lots of friends from my days in the DFW area, and that is always a plus as well.
Yep ,I did and believe it or not it was a dissent show this year, not many vendors, abbout a dozen I guess but there was some great layouts HO,N and even a Gscale…I think it was worth the 5.00 admission…
It would be a great show if the promoters would advertise on tv or at least put a large ad in the paper !
I’m planning on heading up to Plano Saturday with a few of the guys from the club. I went last year for the first time and it’s not a show to be missed.
I was at the Waco show, involved with the HO layout (and helped with the setup on the G and N) I was surprised at the increase in vendors from last year. I think there were more people through the door too. Agreed, it would be better with a lot more publicity than it got. In fact, Videomaker, was that you I was talking to with regards to MoPac track in waco?
I believe it was,we were talking about the MOP and the Cotton Belt…I was by there today thinking about those tracks they took out and where everybody came together ,
