There will be a lot more sales if Ventura County prevails.
This whole process sounds fishy to me on VCTC’s part. I still maintain that VCTC wants to tear out the tracks and turn the right-o-way into a bike path.
On behalf of the Santa Clara River Valley Railroad Society, I wrote the recent article about the Sespe Porter Engine sale. I did not attribute the sale to be a source of funds for the F&W to pay legal costs. That information was provided by other persons and is not stated as fact by the Santa Clara River Valley Railroad Historical Society. My article appeared in our Summer Issue of Train Orders; a copy of the “Train Orders” issue was provided to Trains Magazine. A copy of our Train Orders is available on our Web Page; www.scrvrhs.com

It would be a tragedy to the City of Fillmore and Ventura County if the VCTC wins this case. If the VCTC is allowed to evict the Fillmore & Western Ry then the economy of Fillmore will be greatly compromised. Fillmore depends on tourists and the F & W is a major tourists draw.
My wife and I always make it appoint to stop and visit the FWR on our way to and from visiting friends and family down south.
I know our boycott of what ever they have planned to take its place wouldn’t even make a drop in the counties treasury but I imagine similar actions among friends and RR club and Museum members might.
