Can we get a map or, at least, a sketch of the area and road involved?

Would appear to have the makings of a very scenic tourist railroad.

For the writers of the stories on Newswire… Thanks for making these news briefs available in a timely manner. Although photos, maps, etc., are always helpful, I understand the idea of getting these stories out quickly between editions. Myself, the title of the story tells me enough to know I am Interested in the location, line, etc. Then I choose to read the brief. An since I am online anyway, a quick click or two can pull up maps, directions, pics, you name it. Keep up the good work on News Wire, it is appreciated. We often strive for perfection, by life keeps us on our toes and brings home reality often. BTW, this Lunby area is beautiful and has a very rich rail and steamboat history to explore. Do your research folks, always more to learn… Click, click, click???

Sadly the population and tourist/traveller densities in this beautiful area are not great. The Kettle Valley Steam Railway is only 45km/minutes away to the south in Summerland and it only runs 3 days a week, so what are the chances of a competing non-steam line making a success?

good spot for a nice heritage railway?? no??

Emory, go to your favorite map website, and search for driving directions from Vernon, BC, Canada to Kelowna, BC, Canada. The railway parallels the highway pretty closely, except that it follows the east side of Wood Lake. The line will stay active from Vernon south to the northernmost tip of Kalamalka Lake, and from there east to Lumby (location of a sawmill). And, of course, northwest from Vernon to the CP and CN connections in Kamloops.

A well written story would always contain a MAP of the principal subject matter when addressing geographical locations. (Just a product of non-assuming journalism!)
Most all stories addressing military operations contains a rudimentary Map of the geography.

My observation w/re to a Map was directed at Journalistic Accuracy & Completeness. If I wished to explore the “values” of dot.com data mining (click, click, click?) I would have done so. The proper objective of a story is to tell the story One Time, Completely, Correctly and w/out the need for additional research. Click, click, click may be fine when you have the Time!
