Posting pictures to the forum

Hello everybody! I am a computer dinosaur! I would like to add pictures to my posts. Can someone give me a simple explanation of how to do so? Bear in mind it has to be very simple! Thanks. Dave

This is a frequently asked question. If you put “photo” and “post” into the “Search Community” box you will fetch up a dozen very well written explainations that have been given in the past.

You can get a free account at Photobucket www.photobucket.com and upload photos there They provide the pre made URLs (links) to post photos in forums like this one with the tags at both ends

Ayup, I use Photobucket too. It’s free. The not-so-obvious thing is that the trains.com website does NOT support photo uploads at all. You have to post your photos somewhere else on the internet and then put a “link” (long string of letters that points to the photo, where every you put it) into your trains.com post.

I make it a point to scrunch my photos down to a reasonable size with Picasa before I post them.

The trains.com post editor is something of a pain in the tush when it comes to photos. When you insert a photo link, the link goes invisible, making it hard to tell if the text you type in is going above the linked in photo or below it.
