Presision Crafts PA's Finally Arrived!

My Presiscion Craft PA’s Finally arrived. i got the DRGW Aspen Leaf Scheme. I had painted my own set of PA’s for my California Zephyr. The day I finished them Presicion Craft announced their version of the Aspen Leaf scheme. So I went and reserved them pretty soon after I had first seen them in their Catalog and I finally got them yesterday!

These have Loksound and so far I have been very impressed. I opened them up. There are 4 speakers in 3 loco set. One in each A unit and 2 in the B unit. It have pretty good bass. More so that some other loco’s I’ver heard.

I have had difficulty programming sound decoders in the past. (mostly QSI and Soundtraxx). they usually required me to go to one of the clubs I belong to and Program on Main. I was able to program this one at home with no problem what-so-ever.

I use DecoderPro to Program Loco’s. I have having to change CV’s individually (epecially since I have to convert to hex for Digitrax)

The only thing I found wierd about them straight out of the box was the lighting set up. But what they may have might be right. I’m not sure. Personally I changed it to what i thought would be correct. I’m still trying to get it all figured out.

Sorry no pictures yet. Have only been able to mess around with them for a couple hours.

I have 2 sets of Daylight ABAs with sound on the way, and have yet to see them. I did see an undec PA that was at the LTS and was very impressed. The wait is driving me crazy!! Well, not really, but I am anxious to get my hands on them. They sound really promising in regards to the sound. Are they fairly heavy? I saw that they include a wheelset with traction tires, so that sort of concerned me in regards to how well they will pull.

they are about the same weight at a proto 2000 PA. They have a large metal frame. i didn’t actually look at the wheels sets but all three units of the ABA set are motorized so i don’t think pulling power will be an issue. I actually drove up to Denver yesterday from the springs to get them from caboose hobbies.

I ordered one of my sets through Custom Railway Supply.
