Have a question. has anyone, including Chicago Flyer or Gilbert ever make a prewar parts list or diagrams using the factory part #'s numbers for AF prewar items made between 1935 to 1942 when train production was shut down for the war effort ??? Thanks
Not that I am aware of.
Not sure that anyone knows all of the factory part numbers, especially considering the 2 differing owners of American Flyer during this period (WO Coleman & AC Gilbert).
Gilbert probably had better records, but why save the old Chicago stuff, when they transitioned to 3/16th very quickly after buying and then to S guage after the war.
There’s a limited number of diagrams with part numbers at Olsen’s online library: http://pictures.olsenstoy.com/searchcd1.htm
thank you both.
