I realy don’t know but I found the price estament for the sd70mac 2mil each.
When i was living in alaska they give tours of their maint. facility once a year. They had just bought a few new SD70MACs for the state railroad. I beleive they quoated a price of 2.5 million each.
Divide by 87 makes Athearn look pretty good. man, it makes brass look pretty good [:D][:D][:D]

Thanks guys.
METRO: good idea
Even though its really not my buissness, but, why? If you wanted something to do, i would go to scranton PA and see if you could pick up a “project” from SteamTown N.P. they’ve got a couple steamers sittin in the yard.
Just a couple of things,
Does anyone make 4 axle locomotives anymore? I was under the impression that they didn’t. (Except for GE’s Genisis units)
MR had a joke review in the April 2004 issue, and it was of the WSOR MR boxcar. I think the price was something like $20 000.

P.S. Love your username, SD40-2W. CNR4EVER! (even though I’m a CP fan, I love all the EMD locos)
A recon SW1500 is about $130,000
Like most other things, if I have to ask the price, I probably can’t afford it.

The green goat light switcher is the only freight one I can think of. Also, Chicago’s Metra recently bought some sort of deformed knockoff of the F59PHi
called the MP36. both are made by MotivePower industries.
