programing primary addresses to hares

I have a number of tortise hare combos that I am installing on my new layout. I have a digtrax super chief system. I am a novice user.

I am having difficulty programing new primary addresses to the hares. I have connected a hare to outputs for rail A and rail B and am able to change all the CVs except the primary address. I have followed the digitrax manual and the hare manual but when I get to the Ad2= screen and enter the new value the hare doesn’t receive the signal. I am using program ops mode on the main.

Can anyone help

My understanding of the Hare from reading the documentation at Tony’s Train Exchange is that every Hare is set to address 1 and cannot be changed. All you can program into it is the turnout number, from 2 to 1999.

I don’t own a Hare so I can’t help other than referring you to Tony’s site – he is good about answering e-mail questions, so I suggest taht you pose your question to him.
