Hello,
I have been trying to install LED lights in my Proto 2000 GP60. It did have the problem of the extra light board bulb wired into the 4 and 5 post. I cut out that bulb and thought I had everything figured out to wire in LEDS. I had two wired to the front headlight and one to the rear. However it seems there is a problem with the plug. I cannot seem to get the common and front headlight to work. The 6 post is for the front headlight and the 7 post is common. It will light the rear when I use the 7 and 2. Here is where its odd. It will also light the rear when I use 6 and 2 instead of the front. Putting the decoder in forward will turn the light out. It does this on two different decoders.
I have about decided to hardwire a decoder in using a nine pin plug and wires.
Here is my second question. This loco has the rail pickup on only one side and a red ground. Does the red ground go to the red wire on the decoder? Black pick ups to the appropriate side wire?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
SB
