Do locomotives have windshield washers? Besides the human ones, I mean.
And…while watching the loaded coal train leave town in a pouring rain, my assumption is that weather factors into train handling. Ice on rails, snow on tracks, even just a good hard rain - what possible other than normal action would an engineer take? Do they just reduce speed - or do they even do that?
yes and mookie engineers might have to use more sand to get a good grip on rail especially in bad weather.hoses tend to brake more also during the colder weather if the cars are jerked too hard.

Yes, the winshield washers are controlled by air.
They help ALOT! I once had to help with switching in an NW5, washers years old, had to open all 3 doors, (NW5’s has 2 doors on firemans side) so the steam wouldnt build up and for visibility. O yes, the windwos were all open too. What a FUN day. (sarcasm is a virtue)
