Does anyone have experience with one of these and can help. I picked up one of these as a gift for my brother’s son and can’t get the searchlight housing to rotate very fast despite installing a new “finger” washer. This car is in nice condition and really only rotates well at full power. Unfortunately it doesn’t rotate while running with the loco. I have a 3620 myself and it works perfectly rotating nicely while the train is moving slowly.
Some folks use powdered graphite but I have had good luck with common talcum or bath powder. Rub a little bit between your fingers and apply to the contacting surfaces including the washer fingers.
Yes, talcum powder of any other dry lubrication, such as teflon (stay awayfrom graphite, its to messy for your application)for lubricating rubber. Do not use oil, it will eventually destroy the rubber.
