Question for Kato Unitrack users ? Mix w/ Flex ?

I’m starting to build a trial layout of my Layout. There are several long straights. I’m using Kato’s longest straight runs in “N” scale 9&7/8". Would it be better to use flex track for the long runs ? Also I’ve seen where Other mfgs of Similar track like Bachman Atlas etc have 30" runs of straight, does anyone know if Kato makes something similar ? Thanks again, Dave

You can buy a connector track to link flexi track to kato looks quite nice but getting the two tracks to look the same might be hard…

Luv kato track - 30 mins to lay track on a little shelf in N, works a treat at very slow speeds, tried PECO track and can’t get it to work at all!

I used Kato Unitrack in N for a basic layout for my son. The layout is serving as a scenery learning experience for my friends and I.

One thing we learned is that regular old flex track or sectional track would be better than trying to get Unitrack to adhere to benchwork and disguised under ‘regular’ ballast.

It’s nice to set up something temporary, but for something permanent, I’m not in favor of it.

The rail joiners on the Kato Unitrack can be easily removed. They are snap fit. I’ve connected Atlas code 80 , Peco Code 80 and Peco Code 55 to Kato using Atlas rail joiners.
